Comprehensive dental rehabilitation at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital is usually performed under general anesthesia.  General anesthesia involves putting your child into a deep state of sleep, using inhaled gasses and IV medications.  While there are always inherent risks related to anesthesia, they are extremely rare in healthy children.  We work with a highly trained Pediatric Anesthesia team to screen your child beforehand, assess your child's risk for adverse outcomes and to assure his/her safety during the procedure.
